I had a terrible experience with Gleich Umzüge in my move from Munich to London in fall 2018. THEFT I had paid the company for loading and unloading the cargo, but they left part of it in the truck. The staff recognized this while delivering other customers’ furniture to the other side of the city. Still, they didn´t bring my belongings back to me when still in London but sent me a message saying they will send everything per post when they are back in Germany. It has been two months from the move, and they still have not returned any of the items, worth of hundreds of euros. I have called and emailed Gleich Umzüge multiple times, but the incident has only become more bizarre. First, they claimed the driver of the truck had disappeared with my belongings. Then they blamed me of lying and making up the whole story - despite it was the company’s staff themselves who informed me of the missing stuff in their car. BREACH OF CONTRACT I ordered and pre-paid a moving package that covered dismantling and reassembling of all furniture. However, the staff refused to reassemble any of the furniture in the destination. The men acknowledged that the reassembling was their responsibility according to the contract but refused to do that, claiming that they couldn’t park the car where it was already parked for 4 hours. Furthermore, it is their responsibility to move the car and finish the move. BROKEN FURNITURE - Not reimbursed despite insurance During the move, one of my lamps was broken. Both I and the staff took photos of the damage, as the whole cargo was insured by Gleich Umzüge. I reported the damage twice with photos and all necessary details but Gleich Umzüge has not reimbursed a single penny. If you want to avoid theft, damage and breach of contract in your removal, stay away from this company.
